Meet Claudia Schroeder, LCSW

Therapist for trauma, depression, and anxiety

in Fresno and online for all of California

I specialize in the treatment of adults who experience anxiety, depression, and trauma so they can let go of the past and be the person they want to be.

What if you could get off the emotional rollercoaster?

I can help…

Reconnect with your inner wisdom.

Do you dream of laying in bed, safe from the world and all its demands? Do you notice that you are on the edge and notice that overwhelm is just a situation, interaction, or comment away? Do you want to stop feeling anxious all the time and stop fearing when the next shoe will drop?

I’m Claudia Schroeder, LCSW and I help adults just like you; ones that have within them the desire to leave the pain of the past behind and start healing, and need support to get there. You want to stop feeling easily overwhelmed and start being part of what is really important in your life.

Working with me is a partnership towards the same goal of helping you feel better and putting the pieces back together in a way that feels solid for you.

What it’s like to work with me?

I work with individuals, who are motivated and open to trying something different.

Together we will make sense of the symptoms you experience. In our journey,  you will:

  • Learn to feel emotions in a safe tolerable manner

  • Receive tools to practice feeling your emotions

  • Recognize that you are capable of responding rather than reacting

  • Learn how your emotions can guide you rather than control you

  • Reprocess trauma

  • Experience long lasting relief that you have been waiting for

Clients come to me because they are motivated to achieve long lasting change.  They are willing to try something different and are ready to take control of their lives. They are ready to heal and experience relief.

My role as your therapist is to provide you with information and tools to support you throughout your healing process. I will guide and help you navigate your internal system so you can attune to your needs in a manner that can help with healing from the inside out.

My training in trauma informed care and EMDR, amongst others, means that I have the expertise you need to regain control of your life. I know that trusting someone with what is most vulnerable to you can be a scary thought. I have 15 years of experience, knowledge and training specializing in helping explore your unique experience with curiosity to get to the root of their problems and understand the why.

Patients that work with me describe me as a compassionate person who helps them recognize their strengths, and help them believe in themselves again. They are able to connect to their inner wisdom and recognize how they are active participants in their healing journey.

My guiding principles

Methods Used

  • EMDR Parts Work

    I use Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to work through traumatic experiences. I blend Internal Family systems and parts work to work through the defenses that may prevent effective reprocessing

  • Mindfulness

Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to rebuild neural pathways in the brain. I use mindfulness practices to help people become aware of their reactions, to increase the ability to choose new responses and help regulate their nervous system.

  • Compassionate Inquiry

Is a treatment modality that helps you explore your current triggers and reconnect with with your self authenticity by getting to observe and experience your inner wisdom rather than the story we tell ourselves.

  • DBT

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is treatment modality that teaches people different tools to regulate their emotions and increase their effectiveness in different aspects of life. It incorporates mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal skills. I incorporate this modality because sometimes we all can benefit from more tools.
