What if your mind could stay focused in the here and now?

What if you could control your anxiety rather than anxiety control you?

Do you find yourself unable to stop worrying about an issue and you tell yourself “I’m not going to think about that” and find yourself thinking about your concern over and over and over again? Your imagination creates worst-case scenarios. Your body is tense, your shoulders ride up to your ears. You notice that it is late at night and your mind is unable to settle down. You find yourself stuck alone with your thoughts.

You have trouble staying focused on the task at hand. As you notice your difficulty focusing you experience more pressure. You can’t decide what’s the right choice. You can’t make up your mind and don’t remember what you did 10 minutes ago. You feel restless. Your leg won’t stop shaking. You try to keep it cool on the outside, but it's a very different story on the inside. Your thoughts are racing and so is your heart. You have trouble catching your breath and you feel lightheaded. You feel as if at any moment you are about to lose it.

What if constant worry did not have to be your life’s story?

You don’t have to have anxiety about your anxiety any more.

In sessions, you will learn how your fight, flight, freeze response gets your brain to distort reality and experience a constant state of fear, what ifs, and creating the worst-case scenarios in your mind. You will learn about your nervous system, how it is related to your symptoms, and what you can do to regulate it so you don’t have to respond from your anxiety. You will learn to observe your responses so your anxiety does not get the best of you including at work and home. You don’t have to have anxiety about your anxiety any more.

You will learn different strategies to help you support your emotions in a manner that is healing. You will learn strategies to help you manage the physical and emotional expression of your anxiety. Throughout our work together you will be able to cultivate self-compassion. This will help you have less stress as you learn to relate to your nervous system from a new lens as you work on deactivating your fight, and flight freeze response.

I’ll help you through this process tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to the treatment of anxiety comes from a place of curiosity and compassion; you have all you need inside of you to be confident and grounded.
