In sessions, you will learn how your emotional responses are the effects of your brain trying to protect you from your painful past. You don’t have to react from a place of anger and emotional overwhelm all the time. Together we will explore the tools you have and the tools you can benefit from to help you regulate your brain’s automatic responses; understand how your symptoms are an adaptation to your life experiences. We will identify what trauma approach will be most effective for you. This can include Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a highly effective modality in the treatment of trauma. Through our work together you will be equipped with the necessary tools to build your confidence and be in control of your emotions.
